Reports:

            Financial Statement: That’s easy…we're broke!

Blood Services: Blood drive being planned for Thursday November 1, 2007 from 8:30 – 1:30.  Members will support Mrs. Lawrence in promoting the  drive as well as help with the canteen and registration at the drive.

Malaria Initiative:  There was discussion regarding how to raise awareness  of and funds for the initiative.  India said the students must be shown   evidence and asked if there was video footage.  Ideas for fundraising  included “Decorate a Mosquito”, creating and performing a skit, and a  battle of the bands.  Manager Alley said he would research all of the above and  report at the next meeting.

Old Business: Alley told new members that the goals for the school year would be to support:   two PCHS blood drives, the 90th Anniversary Celebration, the Malaria Initiative, and to learn CPR and First Aid.  Summer 08 plans could include a Leadership Development Center, instructor training, disaster training, the national youth conference, and a youth summer camp.  We will meet regularly on the first Monday of the month with the exception of next month, as we will meet Monday 10/29, so we can prepare for the blood drive.

New Business: Riley Gillespie was chosen as Chair, India Jackson as Vice-Chair, Vanessa Lanning as Treasurer, and Lynette Williams as Secretary.  Dallas Greene was chosen as Junior Representative to the Polk County Board of Directors.

We discussed the possibility of entering a float in the Christmas parade and holding movie nights at the chapter.

 Respectfully Submitted,

George Alley
