Donate Funds The Polk County Chapter of the American Red Cross is supported by the contributions of individuals, businesses, corporations and foundations in our community. Although chartered by the United States Congress to provide service to military service members and disaster victims, the American Red Cross is not a government agency. Your financial contributions allow the Polk County Chapter to continue serving the people of Polk County. Some of the uses for funding include, but are not limited to: responding to single family fires, opening shelters, teaching CPR and First Aid, swimming and water safety, and collecting blood for community hospitals. The rapid growth of our area has created many more demands upon the services and resources of the Red Cross. We depend on generous contributions from the community to continue meeting the needs and services requested. Thank you for your support. Contributions to the American Red Cross, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are deductible for computing income and estate taxes. Red Cross Receives Highest Rating from Charity Navigator. Donate On-line: Donate by mail: Post Office Box 807 Donate by Phone: 828.894.2700 Polk County Chapter Red Cross
