EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION
The Polk County Chapter of the American Red Cross
(ARC), Polk County, North Carolina, seeks a proven community relations
professional for the Executive Director position. Reporting to the
regional organization and a local volunteer board, the executive is
responsible for the promotion and execution of ARC programs and
services (fund raising, grant writing, volunteer management etc.)
while acquiring financial and other support from the community.
College degree preferred or nonprofit experience equivalent. Please

Each year on May 8th the 181 national Red Cross and
Red Crescent Societies around the world commemorate World Red Cross
and Red Crescent Day. Celebrated each year since 1948, World Red Cross
and Red Crescent Day falls on the birthday of Henry Dunant of
Switzerland, the founder of the Red Cross.

An everyday task
for everyday life
Being prepared for emergencies is crucial at home, school, work and in your
community.
Disaster can strike quickly and without warning. It can force you to evacuate
your neighborhood, workplace or school or can confine you to your home. What
would you do if basic services – water, gas, electricity or telephones – were
cut off?
Local officials and relief workers will be on the scene after a disaster, but
they cannot reach everyone right away. The best way to make you and your family
safer is to be prepared before disaster strikes. We encourage you to:
